Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical skills, knowledge, support, and advice to patients with congenital heart disease and their relatives as they move through outpatient and inpatient services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support and advice to patients with congenital heart disease and their relatives.
  • Support the review and management of in-patients, contributing to the care plan and communicating with patients and their relatives.
  • Act as a resource for healthcare professionals within the Trust and across the network.
  • Run face-to-face and virtual clinics for specific patient groups.
  • Pre-assess and provide education to patients undergoing intervention and surgery.
  • Collaborate with anaesthetics in regards to patient safety and planning of care for complex cases.
  • Attend and contribute in MDT meetings.
  • Provide specialist education and training to nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals.
Requirements
  • Post-registration study in a relevant field.
  • Experience in caring for adult cardiac patients, ideally with experience in the care of adults with congenital heart disease.
  • Strong background in caring for adult cardiac patients.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
