VAT Associate Director

We are seeking a highly skilled VAT Associate Director to join our team at RSM. As a key member of our VAT service line, you will play a crucial role in managing the interface between our clients and the firm, ensuring that their expectations are met in terms of service, quality, and cost.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and work on a hybrid basis, enjoying the benefits of being at home and in the office on a weekly basis. Key Responsibilities- Identify and advise on VAT planning opportunities, undertaking specialist technical assignments as required.
- Respond to clients' correspondence promptly, keeping them and our partners informed of the current status of the VAT work.
- Act as the principal point of contact for VAT queries, maintaining excellent client service at all times.
- Undertake work delegated by the Partner or Director, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
- Ensure effective liaison with other departments, promoting a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Closely monitor work in progress reports, ensuring profitable recoverability of work done and timely billing of clients.
- Develop advanced technical knowledge through reading, courses, and awareness of the firm's services, brochures, and publications.
- Identify, meet, and convert prospective clients, assisting other departments in researching and preparing formal proposals for new work.
- Take an active involvement in prospective client seminars, effectively following up with contacts made.
- Assist in review and quality control procedures, administering the department as required.
- Attend staff meetings and training as necessary, maintaining an awareness of Health and Safety issues within the firm.
- Carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by the line manager or Head of Department.
We are looking for a VAT Associate Director with previous experience at Manager or Associate Director level, as well as a proven track record of winning work and unlocking fees from the existing client base. You will be confident in helping to develop junior members of staff and driving forward a good team environment.
- Ability to build and develop a team of VAT practitioners.
- Strong commerciality with the ability to implement and meet targets.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with demonstrated experience of client management.
