Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the delivery of mechanical elements on commercial projects. You will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the successful completion of tasks allocated to you on a project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Attend and host team meetings, lead and issue meeting notes for technical and progress workshop meetings.
- Tender Review: Review tender information including design drawings, specifications, and equipment schedules.
- Design and Documentation: Deliver the design/working drawings necessary to deliver the project and ensure you capture any additional costs and programme delays caused by external influences on their production.
- Technical Compliance: Production and technical compliance checking of technical submissions against specifications and ER documents.
- Package Scoping: Production of package scoping documents.
- Commissioning Strategy: Develop a commissioning strategy for the installation.
- Procurement Management: Management of procurement.
- Value Engineering: Value engineering (where asked for) and better buying against the tender allowances.
- Programming and Scheduling: Programming of the works and sub-contract packages.
- Project Reporting: Project reporting to PM.
- Installation and Commissioning: Manage installation and commissioning activities of your assigned packages.
- Handover Documentation: Handover documentation (record drawings/test and commission).
- Cost Control: Ensure all variation costs are advised to the PM and QS.
- Quality Control: Quality control.
- Risk Management: Risk control (programme and commercial).
Requirements:
- Qualifications: HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering or similar.
- Certifications: CSCS/SMSTS.
- Experience: Experience of working at a senior level on M&E projects, as well as ideally having had responsibility for full contract management.
- Skills: Capability to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely manner. Good computer skills especially with Microsoft Office. Awareness of health and safety requirements and the continual assessment/control of risk. Ability to actively contribute to the team (internal and client team).
