Role Overview

In the capacity of a Senior Cloud Financial Analyst focusing on FinOps, you will be instrumental in overseeing and enhancing our cloud financial operations. Your key responsibilities will include ensuring our cloud infrastructure is both cost-efficient and secure, while aligning with our organizational goals. You will work collaboratively with IT, finance, and operational teams to deliver insights, strategies, and solutions aimed at optimizing cloud usage, managing expenditures, and mitigating risks.

You will become a vital member of our newly established Cloud Hub team, which serves as a central function connecting IT finance with business units to maximize the value of cloud investments and support strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Financial Management: Supervise and optimize the financial operations of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring transparency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Create and maintain cloud budgets, forecasts, and financial models to facilitate informed business planning and decision-making.
  • Cost Optimization: Discover opportunities for cost reductions and implement best practices for managing cloud expenses, including resource optimization.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate comprehensive financial reports and dashboards to provide insights into cloud expenditures, trends, and irregularities.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with IT, finance, and business teams to ensure cloud spending aligns with organizational goals.
  • Vendor Management: Cultivate relationships with cloud service providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to service agreements.
  • Policy Development: Develop and enforce policies and procedures for effective cloud financial management and governance.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with cloud operations, ensuring robust security and compliance measures are in place.
  • Governance: Create and implement governance frameworks to oversee cloud resources, ensuring compliance with regulations and alignment with corporate policies.
  • Training and Knowledge Sharing: Design and execute training programs to educate staff on cloud best practices, cost management, and compliance requirements, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a knack for interpreting complex financial data and providing actionable insights.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Risk and Governance Expertise: Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing risk management and governance frameworks in a cloud context.
  • Experience: Background in cloud financial management or a related role, with a focus on FinOps.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), cloud cost management tools, and financial analysis software.
