Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantum Electrodynamics

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Theoretical Physics group at the University of Plymouth. The successful candidate will undertake research on a range of topics in quantum field theory in electromagnetic backgrounds, including strong-field QED, laser-particle interactions, and nonlinear vacuum optics.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on quantum field theory in electromagnetic backgrounds
- Liaise and work with project partners from simulation and experiment
- Participate in group meetings and give research presentations in international conferences
- PhD in physics or a related discipline
- Research experience in theoretical or high-energy physics
- Desirable: previous experience with external field problems in QFT, strong-field QED, nonlinear optics, or machine learning
