Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to become a vital member of our Engineering Department within the 20" Pipe Mill. This position is essential for driving improvements in our manufacturing efficiency and supporting our strategic objectives.
The key responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Engineer include:
- Support & Coordination: Collaborate with the Site Mechanical Engineer to coordinate engineering tasks and implement best practices for ongoing enhancements.
- Maintenance Strategy: Formulate and execute a cost-effective preventative maintenance plan.
- Design & Innovation: Create, modify, and upgrade plant machinery utilizing advanced technologies.
- Project Management: Oversee projects and provide both technical and managerial assistance to the mechanical maintenance team.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all engineering operations adhere to established standards and strategies, including the management of spare parts, contractors, and budgets.

Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience in mechanical engineering within a high-volume industrial manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Education: A minimum of a 2.1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in computer applications, and exceptional communication abilities are essential.
- Attributes: Capability to manage projects, implement continuous improvement strategies, and develop risk assessments and safe working protocols.
Familiarity with medium pressure hydraulic systems, overhead crane maintenance, and natural gas-fired reheat walking beam furnaces, along with contractor management, is advantageous.
