About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our Acoustic and Structures team at Saint Gobain Glass. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of testing methods and procedures to ensure the highest quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct complex testing services in a professional manner and to a high standard, ensuring compliance with UKAS accreditation and EN ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Method Development: Drive the continuous improvement of our testing methods and procedures, identifying areas for optimization and implementing changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Customer Focus: Work closely with customers to understand their needs and requirements, defining customer requirements and root causes of problems to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of scientists and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of testing projects.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive through to completion customer and service improvement activities, ensuring that our processes and procedures are aligned with industry best practices.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Continued Professional Development in a specialist domain (Testing and UKAS), with a degree or experience in a science or engineering field (Mechanical engineering).
  • Technical Skills: Competent to conduct a wide range of complex testing services in a professional manner and to a high standard, with experience of construction testing (fire, acoustics, structures, glass plastering, etc.).
  • Soft Skills: Ability to identify and drive through to completion customer and service improvement activities, with awareness, respect, and a proactive approach to workplace environment, health, and safety.
