Job Title: Development Technologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Technologist to join our NPD team at Cranswick Country Foods PLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for completing NPD/site activities in support of customer projects from concept to launch.

Main Responsibilities:

• Maintain a well-organized and audit-ready working environment, ensuring all necessary documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
• Conduct organoleptic assessments on products to meet customer and site requirements, collecting and recording data professionally for technical sign-off.
• Complete product cooking validations from start to finish, adhering to specific customer technical requirements, and documenting results for use in specifications and external cooking validations.
• Support the NPD team in fulfilling project or department goals and priorities, as required.
• Participate in customer visits, pre-production, and launches, providing support as needed.
• Contribute to site benchmarking by organizing samples and cooking, ensuring all aspects of safety, legality, and product quality are met.
• Collaborate with site teams to conduct internal risk assessments, ensuring compliance with company procedures and regulations.
• Perform other duties reasonably corresponding to the general character of the post and assist other departments within the business as needed.
• Adhere to good housekeeping practices and challenge processes and practices within the department, suggesting improvements where necessary.
• Ensure understanding and adherence to personal responsibilities regarding Health and Safety at Work Act, Environmental Protection Act, Site Environmental Permit, company HSE policies, site safety rules, and procedures.
• Identify hazards in the workplace and take corrective action or initiate controls to minimize risk.
• Promote Health, Safety & Environmental awareness within areas of control.
• Carry out activities with awareness of their impact on the environment, both in terms of people and the local area.
• Ensure adherence to all standards and processes relating to CCP monitoring, glass, complaints, label verifications, and other paperwork in your area.

Requirements, Experience, and Person Specification:

• Completion of all core training and mandatory procedures.
• Familiarity with all relevant site/area policies, procedures, and processes, including customer-specific requirements.
• Level 3 or 4 Food Safety certificate.
• Computer literacy.
• Previous experience in an NPD or food role.
• Ability to interact with site teams and customers.
• Good communication skills.
