Clinical Psychologist – Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis Team (Band 8a)

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis Team at 279 University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing highly specialist psychological assessments and treatments to children and young people experiencing behavioural, emotional and psychological challenges linked to their cystic fibrosis condition and/or their treatment regimen.

The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and deliver psychological support and evidence-based treatments to our patients.

As a key member of the team, the Clinical Psychologist will also lead research initiatives to evaluate the efficacy, efficiency and acceptability of our assessments and treatments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide highly specialist psychological assessments and treatments to children and young people with cystic fibrosis
  • Develop and deliver psychological support and evidence-based treatments to our patients
  • Lead research initiatives to evaluate the efficacy, efficiency and acceptability of our assessments and treatments
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive care and support to our patients

Requirements:

  • Doctoral level qualification in Clinical Psychology
  • Experience of working with children and young people with cystic fibrosis
  • Strong research skills and experience of leading research initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
