Job Overview:


We are looking for a committed and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or Cover Supervisor to become part of our educational team on a full-time basis.

The ideal candidate will take on the responsibility of providing PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) cover across various classes, with the opportunity for a transition from a temporary to a permanent role based on performance.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver PPA cover across different classes, ensuring the continuity of education in the absence of the class teacher.
2. Lead and manage entire classes, delivering engaging and effective lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.

3. Work across a variety of subjects, with the flexibility to specialize in areas such as Art, Music, PE, or others, depending on your expertise and the needs of the school.

4. Adapt teaching strategies to support students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
5. Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure that all students receive a high-quality education.
6. Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and progress.
7. Undertake other relevant duties as assigned by the school leadership team.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
1. Proven experience as an HLTA or Cover Supervisor, with a strong track record of leading whole classes.
2. Experience working with students with SLD and PMLD.
3. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
4. Flexibility and adaptability in covering a range of subjects.
5. Strong communication and organizational skills.

Desirable Skills:
1. Specialism in Art, Music, PE, or another subject that could enrich our curriculum.
2. Familiarity with strategies for supporting students with complex needs.
