About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team within the Oncology & Blood Services Directorate at Derriford Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate outpatient clinics and administer chemotherapy
- Provide support to patients and relatives/carers on a day-to-day basis
- Assume responsibility for the ward/department on a day-to-day basis in the absence of the Ward Sister/Deputy
- Provide leadership and act as a role model for other staff members
- Contribute to the management of risk, both clinical and financial
Requirements
- Demonstrable post-registration experience in a relevant clinical area
- Proven evidence of recent continuing professional development
- Venepuncture and cannulation skills
- IV drug and chemotherapy administration
- CVAD competencies
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Relevant post-registration clinical course or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Diploma qualification in a healthcare-related subject or equivalent demonstrable experience
