Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. The successful candidate will have a strong background in power engineering and experience working on substations and power projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage key detailed design tasks and initiate sub-contracting of specialist design/studies
  • Ensure technical issues are identified and resolved without delay
  • Review quotations for material supply and manage commercial risk
  • Process internal procurement and prepare technical submittals for approval
  • Work with the project team to prepare sub-contract packages and attend progress meetings
  • Liaise with the project team and supply chain to ensure correct operation of the plant on site
  • Monitor and record project progress against the construction programme
  • Compare Tender drawings to Construction drawings and advise of any changes
  • Ensure the Clients management tools are updated as set out in the contract documentation
  • Prepare and hand over all relevant documentation in the form of a safety file at the end of each project

Requirements:

  • 3rd level Qualification in Electrical Engineering/Power Engineering or relevant similar
  • 6+ years experience working in a power/utility sector
  • Professional and commercial acumen and ability to represent the company at a senior level
  • Detailed knowledge of power engineering, including technical and installation requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of power system operation and development
  • Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures
