Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at United Living Group. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and equipment for our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and equipment for our projects
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Develop specifications and schedules for equipment and materials
  • Specify job requirements and parts/equipment/materials needed for projects
  • Formulate realistic parameters for projects, including design elements and implementation procedures
  • Establish methods for administering field tests and monitoring quality
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation
  • Utilize design drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects
  • Survey mechanical systems and plans
  • Manage and oversee all elements of project delivery under a Project Manager
  • Project budget and programme management
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and work instructions
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • 3+ years' experience in mechanical design, ideally in the UK water sector
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent degree of computer literacy
  • CAD expertise and experience preferable
  • Field/practical experience essential
  • Excellent CDM and health and safety knowledge and application
  • Willingness to learn and undertake training as required
  • Positive 'can do' attitude with flexible approach to work
  • Excellent personal presentation
  • Valid UK driving licence (full, clean)
  • CSCS card preferable
  • Confined spaces training (preferable)
