The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team as a Lecturer in Physiotherapy. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to our students, contributing to the development of our undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve our departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions to students on our BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, BSc Physiotherapy Degree Apprenticeship, Pre-reg MSc in Physiotherapy, and MSc in Specialist Physiotherapy Practice and MSc Advanced Clinical Practice Musculoskeletal courses.
  • Contribute to the development and review of our curriculum, ensuring it remains relevant and effective in preparing students for their future careers.
  • Supervise and mentor students on their clinical placements, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide teaching and learning initiatives, contributing to the development of our education strategy and the enhancement of student experience.
  • Engage in research and scholarship activities, publishing papers and presenting at conferences to advance the field of physiotherapy education.
Requirements
  • HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.
  • Experience of formal teaching, training, and supervising students, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality education.
  • Well-developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to contemporary physiotherapy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and external partners to achieve departmental and college-wide goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, enthuse, and connect with a range of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience of working in non-traditional physiotherapy roles, such as admission prevention, discharge to assess roles, integrated services, or rehabilitation in the community.
  • Knowledge of emerging management pathways and care innovations within the NHS.
The Team

We are a team of 30 physiotherapists from diverse clinical backgrounds and specialities, delivering education across the pre and post-registration programme to over 800 students. As a team, we are committed to high-quality teaching and learning for all our students, using specialist teaching rooms, technology, and simulation. We work creatively and flexibly to meet the evolving needs of service and workforce requirements.
