Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our West Epping Specialist Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health services to patients in the community.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be a fully registered medical practitioner with a license to practice and be on the Specialist Register with qualifications in General Adult Psychiatry. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend regular multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
  • Provide regular clinics to review patients and implement care plans.
  • Offer flexible emergency medical support to patients in the community.
  • Support patients under the Mental Health Act and related processes.
  • Supervise and support specialty doctors and trainee doctors in the team.
  • Work closely with primary care services to optimize patient care.
  • Liaise with other services within and outside the organization to ensure seamless care for patients.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A valid UK driving license or alternative transportation arrangements.
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
  • On the Specialist Register with qualifications in General Adult Psychiatry.
  • Postgraduate degree in psychiatry or equivalent.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice at the time of appointment.
  • Approved clinician status or ability to achieve within 3 months.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
