About the Role

As a key member of the Network Rail team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing detailed work plans that meet the needs of the section.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and optimize all agreed work activities for the section, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing downtime.
  • Accurately update systems, databases, and records to reflect changes and progress.
  • Produce Safe System of Work plans that meet regulatory requirements and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Submit green zone access and isolation requests to ensure smooth operations.
  • Produce draft quarterly plans that align with business objectives.
  • Manage weekly Plan-Do-Review meetings to ensure effective communication and progress tracking.
  • Represent Section Managers at planning meetings to provide updates and insights.
  • Collate and maintain infrastructure maintenance records to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Administer rosters and timesheets to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Support the administration of the Assessment in The Line process to ensure effective talent management.
  • Set up and maintain efficient filing systems for the Section, ensuring confidentiality and safety critical documents are properly stored.
  • Undertake general office administration duties for the Section Manager, providing effective support and ensuring seamless operations.

Requirements

  • Work Plan production and resource optimization skills to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Scheduling profile in work planning/scheduling system to ensure accurate planning and tracking.
  • Core Planning Skills Level 2 to ensure effective planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of access and possession processes and systems to ensure smooth operations.
  • Safe System of Work Planning Process and System to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to ensure effective collaboration and progress tracking.
  • Experience of clerical support and office management to ensure seamless operations.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Knowledge of relevant IT systems to ensure efficient use of technology.
  • Ability to work on own initiative to ensure proactive problem-solving and decision-making.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of operational railway environment to ensure effective understanding of business needs.
