About the Role

EG Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Procurement Officer to join our global business. As a strategic leader, you will be responsible for driving the transformation of our Procurement Function into a dynamic and innovative force that drives efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability throughout our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement a Leading Procurement Strategy

Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with our organisational goals and objectives.

Ensure Compliance and Best Practices

Ensure compliance with best practices and regulatory directives, including GSCOP, to maintain a high level of procurement excellence.

Manage the Procurement Budget and Identify Cost-Saving Opportunities

Monitor and manage the procurement budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities through the adaptation of procurement strategies based on market trends.

Stay Informed and Implement Innovative Solutions

Stay informed about emerging trends in sourcing and supplier landscapes, and implement innovative solutions, such as automation, blockchain, and data analytics, to optimize procurement processes and enhance supplier relationships.

Develop Strategic Partnerships with Suppliers

Develop strategic partnerships with suppliers to encourage innovation, quality improvement, and cost reduction.

Promote Sustainable Sourcing and Ethical Supply Chains

Promote sustainable sourcing and ethical supply chains by integrating environmental and social considerations into procurement decisions.

Identify and Mitigate Procurement Risks

Identify and mitigate procurement risks, ensuring supply chain resilience by assessing supplier financial stability and managing geopolitical and third-party risks.

Lead Negotiations and Oversee Contract Management

Lead negotiations to secure favorable contracts and oversee contract management to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.

Mentor and Develop a High-Performing Team

Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Requirements
  • CIPS / CPSM / CSCP Qualified

Certified in procurement and supply chain management, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.

10+ Years' Experience in Procurement

At least 10 years of experience in procurement, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.

PMP (Project Management Professional) Qualification

Desirable, but not essential.

Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management

Desirable, but not essential.

Proven Track Record in Procurement Leadership

A proven track record of designing, developing, and leading a procurement function in a large organisation.

Strong Influencing and Leadership Skills

Ability to build a strategic vision and influence organisational buy-in and implementation.

Experience in Sustainable Procurement Practices

Experience in sustainable procurement practices and knowledge of relevant industry standards and certifications.

Exceptional Leadership and People Management Skills

Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

Contract and Supplier Relationship Management Skills

Experience in contract and supplier relationship management, with the ability to lead complex supplier negotiations across a broad range of categories.

Comprehensive Knowledge of Procurement Concepts

Comprehensive knowledge of procurement concepts, processes, and techniques, including supply chain management, total cost modeling, supplier performance metrics, risk management, and supplier relationships.

Proven Commercial Awareness and Analytical Skills

Proven strong commercial awareness and analytical skills, with the ability to drive business growth and improvement.
