Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Oncologist Consultant to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our Oncology department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our cancer services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide clinical leadership and management to the Oncology department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
  • Patient Care: Undertake clinical responsibility for patients with cancer, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Research and Development: Participate in research and development activities, including clinical trials and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Education and Training: Contribute to the education and training of medical staff, students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure compliance with national and local standards for cancer care, including clinical governance and quality assurance.
Requirements
  • Medical Qualifications: Hold a medical degree and be registered with the General Medical Council.
  • Clinical Experience: Have significant experience in medical oncology, including leadership and management roles.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and other stakeholders.
