Engine Build Technician

At Prodrive, we're seeking an experienced Engine Build Technician to join our Motorsport Engine Team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for assembling and preparing high-performance engines for racing and rallying.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strip, prepare, and assemble multi-cylinder race and rally engines, including the Dakar V6, Aston Martin V8 twin turbo GTE, GT3 & GT4, Subaru P25, and Ferrari GT1 V12.
  • Take the engine through the build process from stripping, cleaning, inspection, preparation, reassembly, dyno, and pre-delivery inspection.
  • Work on all areas of the engine, including cylinder heads, pumps, and throttles.
  • Build engines to specification and within homologation tolerances.
  • Maintain build records and lifecheck systems.
  • Identify and address quality issues.
  • Liaise with engineers when required.
  • Visit customer teams at their workshops or trackside for support or repairs, which may involve traveling abroad.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in motorsport, building race or rally engines in a professional engine building environment.
  • A motor vehicle or engineering qualification is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative to tight deadlines, be an excellent team worker, and be flexible and willing to attend race events if required.
