We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Operations Engineer to join our client's growing team in Corby, Northamptonshire. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing electrical and mechanical support and repairs for all automated materials handling systems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide electrical and mechanical support and repairs for all automated materials handling systems
- Carry out planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, and project work
- Work on conveyors, automated stacker cranes, SCADA systems, barcode readers, scanners, cooling systems, site services, palletisers, automated turntables, PLCs, elevators
- Work in a cold storage facility
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance of automated stacker cranes that can operate up to 42 metres high
- Assist in developing planned maintenance schedules for all new machinery and systems
- Majority of the workload is problem-solving and fault-finding at the moment
- Deal with gearboxes, bearings, rollers, shafts, drives, sensors, control panels, servo drives
- Must have some form of formal electrical qualification, such as City & Guilds, NVQ, 17th or 18th Edition
- Happy working at heights up to 42 metres on cranes
- Comfortable working in cold and freezer conditions
- Due to health and safety regulations, must weigh under 19st (125kg)
- Ideally be a multi-skilled engineer
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Must have worked in a maintenance engineering role previously
- Ideally have worked in automated warehouse, distribution, FMCG, manufacturing
- Experienced in working on conveyors, rollers, stackers
- PLC - electrical fault-finding skills would be beneficial
