We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Theatre Practitioner - Scrub Nurse to join our team in the Gynaecology, Urology and Robotics department. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and positioning of patients for surgical procedures, ensuring accurate labelling and dispatch of specimens to the laboratory.
- Contribute to the control of cross-infection by adhering to departmental policies on dress, cleanliness, decontamination, and asepsis.
- Participate in induction and orientation programs for new staff, promoting a welcoming environment.
- Prepare patients for clinical and operative procedures, both in anaesthetics and surgery.
- Provide assistance in clinical and operative procedures, both anaesthetics and surgery.
- Take charge of the clinical area in the absence of an advanced practitioner, ensuring patient, visitor, and staff safety.
- Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate perioperative patient care.
- Participate in the delegation and supervision of junior grades, unqualified, and less experienced staff.
- 1st level registration Adult and/or Children or Diploma or Degree in Health Care Studies / ODP Level 3 NVQ / ODA 752.
- Previous perioperative experience in Gynaecology, Urology, and Robotics is essential.
- NMC or HCPC registered.
- Ability to deliver high standards of care.
- Knowledge of current professional nursing issues.
