Job Title: English Team Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Manager to join our Division of Medicine at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a vital and dynamic team leading role within the Division of Medicine. You will manage and develop a responsive administration service, overseeing the day-to-day management of the Medicine administrative teams, including annual appraisals, annual leave, sickness management, and adherence to Trust HR policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities
  • Promoting data quality processes and a right-first-time approach
  • Responsible for day-to-day line management of administration staff, including receptionists, ward clerks, and divisional secretaries, to include approving timesheets, recruitment and selection, ensuring working environments comply with health and safety legislation, staff inductions, annual leave, rota management, and general day-to-day staff management as needed.
  • Developing and implementing efficient processes and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the administration service.
  • Collaborating with other teams and departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Providing guidance and support to administration staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
Requirements
  • Experience and knowledge of a range of administrative and organisational policies and management information systems
  • Experience of data quality management and awareness of 'Right First Time'
  • Experience of working in a pressured busy environment with supervisory responsibilities
  • Ability to work to and promote Standard Operating Procedures/Performance Targets
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Word and Excel
  • Supervisory or management experience
  • Previous RTT/PTL Validation and management experience
  • Previous waiting list experience
Qualifications/Training
  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade C or above, or suitable equivalent qualification or relevant experience
  • RSA III or NVQ III or suitable equivalent level administrative/supervisory qualification or relevant experience
  • Proven competence in using admin and clinical systems, e.g., PAS/MS Word/Excel/Outlook, with excellent typing/keyboard skills
  • Customer care experience or qualification
  • Handling difficult situations training
