Maintenance Engineer

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Livingston. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical and Electrical engineering and experience in a similar position.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Design, install, and upgrade electrical systems, including installations, upgrades, and remedials.
- Respond promptly to unplanned repairs and breakdowns, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
- Conduct thorough fault diagnosis and repair of equipment, utilizing technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for manufacturing and facility equipment, ensuring proactive maintenance and reducing the risk of equipment failure.
- Collaborate with the sales team to specify and obtain costings for heating, lighting, and air conditioning systems as required.
- Produce detailed bills of materials (BOMs) for production electrics as needed.
- Travel nationwide for projects, as required, and participate in a 24-hour emergency call-out service to respond to critical equipment failures.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and safe systems of work.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical installation, production machinery maintenance, and related technical skills.
- City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent City & Guilds qualification) in a relevant field.
- 17th or 18th Edition of BS7671 certification.
- Ability to work on-site and adapt to shift work, as required.
Competitive salary range: £35,000 - £45,000 (dependent on experience).
