Travel Sales Consultant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Travel Sales Consultant to join our team. As a Travel Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for servicing both direct clients and travel agent partners with a professional and friendly manner at all times while dealing with their new booking enquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle inbound calls from direct clients and travel agents in a professional manner (new booking enquiries).
  • Maximize every sales opportunity, upsell and cross-sell whenever required or appropriate.
  • Strive to achieve monthly sales targets across all products and customer types.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to discerning, loyal customers who book high-value trips.
  • Manage new enquiry and callback requests by responding within the expected time frame with excellent written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task between calls and emails.
  • Support with crisis events such as high and low water/flight changes/non-operational tours when and if required.
  • Confident in using multiple Microsoft programs especially Excel with day-to-day workload, tasks, and data entry.
  • Take day-to-day initiative and share knowledge with other team members.
Requirements:
  • Strong focus on quality of service as well as quantity.
  • High attention to detail to ensure bookings are error-free.
  • Strong GDS Knowledge.
  • Proven experience in a sales role, preferably within the travel industry, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • The ability to be flexible and deal with non-sales workstreams when required.
  • Confident with Microsoft programs.
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment.
  • Flexibility to work on a rota basis 37.5 hours per week between Monday and Sunday.
  • Excellent written and oral communication competency.
  • A willingness to take responsibility and to work as a part of a close team.
  • Ability to adapt to the company culture and live the company values.
