Role Overview:
As a Sous Chef at our Coniston Country House, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You will assist the Head Chef in preparing and serving a traditional British menu, which includes breakfast, packed lunches, and a three-course evening meal served in a banquet style.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head Chef in menu planning and food preparation.
  • Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, including chefs, kitchen assistants, and porters.
  • Conduct stock takes and manage orders from external suppliers.

Candidate Profile:
We are looking for candidates with the following essential skills:
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a busy kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, The Food Safety Act 1990, allergen legislation, and relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with fresh ingredients and traditional British cuisine.
