Key Responsibilities:
This role presents an exciting opportunity for an individual eager to advance their career as a Structural Engineer within a leading team known for its exceptional reputation. You will be involved in:
- Supporting the Associate Director/Director in managing the structural engineering team.
- Independently overseeing projects and project teams.
- Assuming financial responsibility for your projects.
- Preparing fee proposals and managing invoicing.
- Coordinating with staff and other consultants.
- Further developing the engineering and technician team.
- Collaborating with senior stakeholders and clients.
- Conducting site visits and performing structural surveys, investigations, and repair schemes for various structural issues.
Candidate Profile:
To excel in this position, candidates should possess a degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering and ideally be chartered with ICE, IStructE, or a similar body, or be on the path to chartership.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in designing foundations, masonry, concrete (including detailing), steel, and timber structures in accordance with Eurocodes.
- Familiarity with the residential market, including traditional construction and framed structures.
- Commercial awareness with knowledge of financial project management, client development, and project appointment processes.
- Experience in structural investigations for low-rise residential properties and medium-rise residential and commercial markets.
- Preferably knowledgeable in structural investigation and reporting related to the 'Building Safety Act.'
- Proficiency in Tekla software (Tekla Designer and Tedds) and ideally AutoCAD/Revit.
- Strong leadership skills to establish authority and influence both internally and externally.
- Previous management experience is advantageous.
- Ability to make informed decisions.
- Self-motivated with initiative and comfortable working autonomously, with a desire to drive innovation.
