Position Overview

The successful candidate will spearhead the advancement of innovative signal processing, coding, and detection techniques tailored for extensive parallel optical transmission systems. Responsibilities will encompass research focused on the architecture of Spatial Division Multiplexing (SDM) transceivers and high-speed transmission pathways, including:

  • Innovative methodologies for designing spatially adaptable optical transceivers that respond to varying demands such as throughput and distance.
  • Assessment of fundamental constraints on spatial-domain scalability in both linear and nonlinear contexts.
  • Creation of spatial-domain transceivers capable of functioning across diverse spatial cardinalities.
  • Development of advanced signal processing algorithms.

The candidate will also conduct transmission experiments to validate simulation models and will be responsible for creating simulation frameworks in MATLAB and Python for optical communication systems and networks.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will possess a PhD in Electronic Engineering or a related field, showcasing a strong research portfolio with high-quality publications in areas such as digital signal processing, space-division multiplexing, and the experimental validation of high-capacity transmission systems. Familiarity with machine learning methodologies applicable to optical networks is advantageous.

As the research findings will be shared at conferences and published in journals, the candidate must demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation capabilities.
