About the Role

The Chair of Governors is a critical position that requires a strong leader to drive school improvement and ensure accountability. As a key member of the school's senior leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the school's vision, setting its aims and values, and overseeing the implementation of its plans.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership: Provide guidance and support to the school's senior leadership team, ensuring that the school's vision and goals are aligned with the Trust's objectives.
  2. Accountability: Ensure that the school is meeting its statutory obligations and that the governing body is fulfilling its duties.
  3. School Improvement: Work collaboratively with the school's senior leadership team to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them.
  4. Financial Management: Oversee the school's budget and ensure that financial resources are allocated effectively to support the school's improvement plans.
  5. Governance: Ensure that the governing body is functioning effectively, providing support and challenge to the school's senior leadership team.
  6. Communication: Foster strong relationships with the school, the Trust, and the local community, ensuring that the school's vision and goals are communicated effectively.
