Job Summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Learning Disabilities Inpatient & Mental Health Intensive Support and Treatment Teams. As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality occupational therapy services to adults with learning disabilities who require assessment and treatment in relation to mental health, forensic, or behavioral support needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans to promote independence, well-being, and quality of life for service users.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to service users.
  • Conduct assessments, interventions, and evaluations to identify and address occupational therapy needs.
  • Provide education and training to service users, families, and staff on occupational therapy principles and practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Relevant experience working as an Occupational Therapist in mental health, learning disabilities, or children's and families services.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary working.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A passion for quality improvement and innovative practice.
