Deputy Store Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Store Manager to join our team at Pets at Home. As a Deputy Store Manager, you will play a vital role in the success of our store, working closely with the Store Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store, including stock control, recruitment, and store standards.
  • Take full responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Work closely with the Store Manager to develop and implement sales and performance strategies to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and motivate a team of retail staff, providing coaching and development opportunities to ensure they are equipped to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive store culture, promoting diversity and respect for all colleagues and customers.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year's management experience in a retail environment.
  • Flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Passionate about retail and committed to delivering high standards and great results.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
