We are on the lookout for a seasoned and proficient Lead Web API Engineer to become a vital part of our technology team, focusing on the development and maintenance of internal and external web APIs that support our game engine division.

The ideal candidate will join a compact team, leveraging their advanced JavaScript expertise throughout the complete software development lifecycle, which includes requirements analysis, system architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. You will be tasked with creating both internal tools and public-facing APIs.

We seek a talented senior or lead professional with a proven track record in developing high-performance and distributed backend APIs, while effectively utilizing third-party services. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues. This role presents an exciting opportunity to construct critical business systems from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality, well-documented code.
  • Successfully develop and deploy new tools to assist our game teams.
  • Respond promptly to bugs and issues, ensuring swift resolutions.

Core Duties:

  • Design, develop, and deploy web applications to support our in-house engine team.
  • Enhance and maintain existing tools.
  • Create integrations with third-party APIs.
  • Support application deployments.
  • Engage in effective communication with other teams.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in NodeJS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Vue and React.
  • Experience with databases including MySQL and NoSQL solutions.
  • Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud environments.
  • Experience with software development tools and version control systems (Git/Perforce preferred).
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
  • Comfortable with modifying and maintaining applications in other languages (e.g., PHP) is advantageous.
  • Experience with serverless functions (AWS Lambda/Azure Functions) is a plus.
