Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a skilled Software Engineer specializing in Python to become a part of our expanding team. In this role, you will be instrumental in crafting the software that drives our state-of-the-art robotic systems. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and testing Python code, leveraging machine learning and computer vision libraries to enhance the capabilities and autonomy of our robots.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize efficient Python code for robotic applications
  • Employ PyTorch and other deep learning frameworks to create and execute machine learning algorithms for tasks such as object detection, pose estimation, and path planning
  • Integrate OpenCV for computer vision tasks, including image processing, feature extraction, and real-time object recognition
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to gather robot requirements and translate them into effective software solutions
  • Produce well-documented, clean, and maintainable code in line with best software development practices
  • Engage in code reviews and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the codebase
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in machine learning, computer vision, and robotics technologies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 2 years of experience in developing Python applications
  • Strong command of the Python programming language, with a solid grasp of object-oriented programming principles
  • Familiarity with machine learning libraries such as PyTorch and scikit-learn
  • Experience with computer vision libraries like OpenCV
  • Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively

Compensation

The salary for this position is in the range of £40,000 - £50,000.
Initially, this role will require in-office attendance, with the possibility of remote work following a probationary period.
