About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Lead to join our team at The Sterling Choice. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to ensure the smooth operation of our production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Motivate and Lead a Team: Foster a positive and productive work environment, providing guidance and coaching to your team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Contractor and Supplier Management: Effectively manage contractors and maintenance suppliers through regular performance reviews to ensure optimal performance.
  • Apprentice Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to apprentices to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintenance Excellence: Support the implementation of our Maintenance Excellence roadmap to improve site efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Planned Maintenance: Ensure adherence to planned maintenance schedules through effective resource planning, ensuring adequate plant cover as required.
  • CMMS Data Analysis: Analyze CMMS data to inform forward planning and identify opportunities for equipment improvement.
  • PMS Support: Fully support our end-to-end PMS (Plant Maintenance System) to ensure seamless operation.
  • Cost Effectiveness: Review maintenance activities and identify opportunities to improve cost effectiveness.
  • Problem Solving: Utilize RCA/5 why analysis and problem-solving techniques to resolve issues efficiently.
  • 5S Programme: Support the site and departmental 5S programme to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Maintenance Improvement: Develop and implement maintenance improvement techniques to enhance site efficiency.
  • Reliability Centred Maintenance: Drive and support Reliability Centred Maintenance and FMECA activities to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Supplier Liaison: Liaise with manufacturers of specialist machinery, equipment, and component suppliers to promote standardization, improvements, and cost-effectiveness opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Qualifications: Hold an Engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) and have experience working with process equipment and P&IDs.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
