Senior Commercial Lead Opportunity Available

Are you driven by the pursuit of commercial excellence in the property development sector? Select Recruitment Specialists Ltd is on the lookout for an experienced Senior Commercial Lead to manage all aspects of Quantity Surveying within our organization.

This crucial position will report directly to the Regional Directors and will have functional oversight to the Commercial Director. If you are an accomplished Quantity Surveyor ready to elevate your career, this role may be the perfect fit for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximize and convert commercial prospects while fostering long-term, productive trading relationships.
  • Contribute significantly to the formulation of project and business strategies, ensuring compliance with the Company's Commercial Standing Instructions (CSI).
  • Assist the Commercial Director in the creation and execution of policies and procedures, guaranteeing that best practices are uniformly applied across the region's operations.
  • Engage actively in various business aspects as a member of the regional management team, including tender evaluations, bidding strategies, and adjudications.
  • Ensure that post-contract management aligns with the CSI and oversee the procurement of subcontractors and materials effectively.
  • Swiftly identify and mitigate commercial risks to ensure project success, focusing on effective cost management and dispute prevention.
  • Provide financial and contractual support to the Regional Director, aiding senior departmental staff in attracting and retaining skilled personnel, while ensuring staff receive appropriate training and development opportunities.
  • Conduct annual and interim Performance & Development Reviews to monitor and enhance team performance, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess experience in a residential construction firm or property development, complemented by a robust educational background, ideally having transitioned from a Quantity Surveyor position or a similar role.

Advanced skills in building and nurturing relationships with clients, project quantity surveyors, and design teams are essential. A solid understanding of commercial strategy, claims and dispute resolution, and financial reporting is also critical.

Furthermore, your capability to manage activities across the region and supervise subcontract and material orders will be integral to your success in this role.
