Lead Therapist for OCD/BDD Programmes

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Therapist to lead our OCD/BDD group therapy programme. As a key member of our therapy team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of inpatient and day therapy programmes, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment models for OCD and BDD.
  • Provide clinical and managerial supervision to the therapy team, ensuring high-quality care and support for patients.
  • Lead the strategic development of therapy programmes, including the implementation of new modalities and interventions.
  • Manage a caseload of patients, including planning and evaluating interventions.
  • Ensure efficient management of team resources, including attendance and leave.
  • Communicate therapists' concerns and suggestions to the Therapy Services Manager.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Therapy Services Manager.
  • Foster an open and honest dialogue within the therapy department.
  • Mentor new staff and lead on audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Completion of postgraduate training in cognitive behaviour therapy.
  • Full accreditation with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
  • Core professional registration (e.g., psychology, nursing, social work) or equivalent recognition through BABCP.
  • Knowledge and experience in assessment, formulation, and treatment of OCD and related disorders.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team and in an acute mental health setting.
  • Previous management experience and ability to supervise and mentor health professionals.
