Job Title: Customs Brokerage Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Brokerage Manager to join our team at Expeditors. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and timely processing of shipments, while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and timely classification of shipments for all customers
  • Monitor duty deferment usage and levels, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Manage license/visa applications and ensure all necessary documentation is in order
  • Transition new business correctly and ensure seamless integration with existing operations
  • Make regular F2F calls to customers to discuss retention and sales opportunities
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and trainings
  • Promote productivity tools and ensure their effective use across the team
  • Audit files in accordance with AEO standards and ensure all necessary documentation is in order
  • Follow up on refunds with customs authorities and ensure timely resolution
  • Manage the customs system and ensure all necessary updates are implemented
  • Send client report requests through the available database and ensure timely delivery
  • Provide content for customer reviews and ensure all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date
  • Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements into your department
  • Review and conduct staff appraisals and one-to-one meetings in a timely manner, in line with the 3+1 Initiative
  • Assist supervisor and key staff with goal setting and monitoring development
Requirements:
  • Global logistics industry knowledge and experience
  • Good computer skills, including MS Excel and MS Word
  • Fluent in English and able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
  • Proven problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • 3-5 years of Customs Broker's specific knowledge and experience
