Job Summary
Terry Parris Associates is seeking an experienced Technical Procurement Specialist to lead the company's purchasing function, ensuring all orders and contracts are delivered on time and within agreed budgets.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the company's purchasing function, including request for quotations (RFQs), purchase order generation, stock control, and materials workflow.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, production, and design teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to meet production and project planning needs.
- Manage and lead supplier relations, including expanding the supplier base to support company growth.
- Understand and interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications.
- Support the Sales and Finance teams with cost requirements.
- Work closely with Design Engineers and Production Managers to coordinate and plan requirements according to project deadlines.
- Develop a coordinated approach to buying, scheduling, and cost management.
Requirements
- Experience in a technical purchasing environment.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain management principles.
Working Environment
The role is based at the company's Hailsham site. Due to the nature of the work, this role cannot be fulfilled by working on a remote basis.
