Irvine, North Ayrshire, United Kingdom Cornerstone Community Care Full time

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Support Practitioner to join our friendly team in Irvine. As a Support Practitioner, you will work in a person-centred way to provide support in all aspects of daily living, including cooking and preparing meals, personal care, administering medication, and managing personal finances.

The lady we support enjoys attending local activities, meeting up with friends for a coffee, and attending family events. To ensure we maintain her independence, you will be enthusiastic and take an active interest in her hobbies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support in all aspects of daily living, including cooking and preparing meals, personal care, administering medication, and managing personal finances.
  • Encourage and support the lady we support to participate in local activities, meet up with friends, and attend family events.
  • Take an active interest in the lady's hobbies and support her to maintain her independence.
  • Work in a person-centred way to provide support that is tailored to the lady's needs and preferences.

About You

To be a great Support Practitioner, you will need to have:

  • Great communication skills.
  • Able to think outside the box.
  • Caring attitude and approach.
  • Positive approach to learning.
  • Able to follow guidelines.
  • Confidence in the use of technology.

We don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and will give you all the training you need if you're successful. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too.

Shift Patterns

We provide tailored support and our team follow a rolling rota with 24 hour shift patterns. You will work a shift that starts at 10am until 11pm, sleepover, and then 7am until 10am the following day. Our sleepover shifts are paid at varying rates depending on how long the shift is.

We are looking to fill this vacancy as soon as possible, so we reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we find a suitable candidate before the closing date. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
