  • Facilitate the transition to new warehouse facilities, ensuring a smooth changeover from current locations to a designated new site.
  • Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and that all necessary certifications are current, while providing adequate training for staff and volunteers on safety protocols.
  • Recruit, train, and oversee staff and volunteer teams in warehouse and logistics functions, ensuring sufficient coverage during periods of absence.
  • Coordinate with Welcome Centres and Fairbite Food Clubs to manage their inventory and ensure timely delivery of the appropriate food items.
  • Supervise the charity's vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles are well-maintained, serviced, and compliant with legal requirements, while ensuring that all drivers are properly authorized.
  • Ensure the effective transportation of food to Welcome Centres and Fairbite Food Clubs, as well as from collection points and between warehouses as needed, by coordinating driver schedules.
  • Procure food supplies to ensure a steady flow of inventory when donations are low, and to support the operations of Fairbite Food Clubs.
  • Make the warehouse accessible for public donations during designated hours.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels and transfers in and out of the warehouse.
  • Conduct an annual inventory audit.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Line Manager, in line with the role and the needs of the organization.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in building and managing teams of volunteers and staff.
  • Ability to work independently to enhance systems and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possession of a full clean driving license, with the ability to operate both manual and automatic vehicles.

CHARACTERISTICS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Effective communicator with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, fostering a friendly and non-judgmental atmosphere.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of Cambridge City Foodbank and the Trussell Trust.
