Reading, Reading, United Kingdom Stantec Full time
Job Title: Hydrogeologist Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrogeologist Consultant to join our team in Reading. As a key member of our Environmental Services group, you will work on a variety of projects, providing high-quality solutions to challenges faced in the water and mineral sectors.

About the Role:

As a Hydrogeologist Consultant, you will be responsible for assessing the impacts of climate change on the water environment and on water supplies, at both extremes of droughts and flooding. You will also investigate the sustainability and impacts of water abstractions on the wider environment, such as dependent surface water and terrestrial ecosystems.

You will develop conceptual understanding of regional aquifers and how groundwater interacts with surface water, developing numerical models to enable the regulation of groundwater abstraction. Additionally, you will determine the potential risk of national infrastructure projects on the groundwater environment and design new groundwater abstractions and monitoring boreholes infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluating options by understanding context and risks, navigating ambiguity, and putting forward your thoughts and ideas.
  • Collecting and analysing data, conceptualising and quantitatively describing hydrological systems and processes.
  • Working on a variety of projects, providing high-quality solutions to challenges faced in the water and mineral sectors.
What We Offer:
  • Private medical insurance
  • A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection, and life assurance
  • Permanent employment contract to demonstrate our commitment to your long-term career at Stantec
  • Professional progression plan, supporting you to gain professional chartership
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment and Early Careers peer group and wider ERG network.

Please note, we ask our graduates to come into the office 4 days per week, to ensure that you receive sufficient time with your team and receive the appropriate level of support.
