We are currently seeking a hybrid working Senior Professional Architectural Engineer. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with substantial hands-on experience in an engineering role, specializing in either VMWare and Virtualization or Linux. A passion for conceptualizing, designing, and solving architectural challenges is essential, along with the ability to transition between system design/architecture, hands-on development, implementation, and client interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Account Solution Architect to devise and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Possess a comprehensive technical understanding to assist engineers in the development of Proof of Concepts (POCs) and adopt a hands-on approach to designing and implementing solutions that ensure high availability, meet performance metrics, and are scalable.
  • Contribute to the evolution and documentation of the architecture that supports existing platforms and services, leading the transition from legacy systems to cloud-based architectures.
  • Engage with project roles as necessary to comprehend the intricate business landscape, technical context, client requirements, and organizational strategic goals.
  • Provide guidance to clients on the latest technologies and methodologies.

Preferred Skills and Technologies:

  • Strong Linux system administration and KVM skills or VMware expertise, including ESX, vCentre, Clustering, HA, DRS, vRealize, Update Manager, hardening, storage integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience in technical computing environments.
  • Deep understanding of Linux and its ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with deployment automation technologies.
  • Proficiency in coding, particularly Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience in network design, implementation, and administration.
  • A track record in designing and applying systems that leverage automation technologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Virtualization and Container technologies.
  • Experience in designing large, complex systems, including practical experimentation and development skills.
  • Strong technical breadth and depth, along with excellent client engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of technologies such as Foreman, Puppet, Satellite, Ansible, Nagios, AI/ML, Big Data, Elastic Search, IaaS, PaaS, HPC, DevOps, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, and Linux-based applications.
