Job Overview

Required Availability:

Candidates should be available for client matching during peak hours, specifically from 8 am to 12 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm.

Responsibilities of Home Instead Caregivers:

  • Conducting visits of at least one hour in the client's residence.
  • Supporting personal hygiene routines.
  • Administering or reminding clients about their medications.
  • Performing light cleaning tasks.
  • Assisting with shopping and various errands.
  • Providing companionship and emotional support.
  • Preparing meals for clients.
  • Offering assistance with nutrition and hydration.
  • Communicating with Home Instead and maintaining daily records.
  • Establishing strong, personal connections with clients.

Required Qualifications

Home Instead caregivers receive training in the following areas:

  • Personal hygiene assistance.
  • Medication oversight.
  • Basic life support techniques.
  • Safe moving and handling practices.
  • Food safety protocols.
  • Awareness of dementia care.
  • Fire safety measures.
  • Adult safeguarding practices.
  • Progress towards obtaining a Care certificate.
