Job Description

As an Engineering Lead at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be responsible for leading site and corporate metrics, including collaborator management, to ensure actions are completed on target. You will also be responsible for offering expertise and steering new product introductions on automation engineering topics to define activity required to deliver the automation strategy of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working autonomously to generate, report on, and deliver project plans for all own engineering activities.
  • Leading site and corporate metrics, including collaborator management, ensuring actions are completed on target.
  • Offering expertise and steering new product introductions on automation engineering topics to define activity required to deliver the automation strategy of the project.
  • Acting as client liaison when required and working closely with respective counterparts as client site to align processes across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Sharing expertise and mentorship to the engineering maintenance team in problem-solving issues associated with site-wide utilities, including purified water, pure steam, and calibrated equipment.
  • Ensuring cGMP is applied in the work area and aligns with cGMP through following site SOPs.
  • Offering mentorship and support to a small team of engineers, while ensuring compliance with preventative maintenance schedules.
EH&S Responsibilities
  • Understanding emergency procedures and following safe systems of work.
  • Ensuring compliance with environment, health, and safety rules, signage, and instructions at all times.
  • Ensuring timely reporting and investigation of all accidents, near misses, and breaches of rules.
  • Identifying and driving energy improvements to reduce the site's overall energy consumption.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree qualified or with suitable experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry, preferably in the fill/finish operational environment.
  • Strong project management background within production engineering, validation, or quality, with an understanding of sterile manufacture.
  • Ability to utilize project management tools such as Microsoft Project, etc.
  • Experienced in handling and leading change, continuous improvements.
  • People leadership experience.
  • Client-facing experience preferred.
