About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Classroom Teacher: Collaborate with the teacher to develop and implement engaging lesson plans, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all students.
  • Lead Small Group Sessions: Design and deliver targeted support sessions to small groups of students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Develop Strategies for Student Engagement: Work with the teacher to develop and implement strategies to improve student engagement and behavior, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with Lesson Planning: Contribute to the planning and preparation of learning materials, ensuring that all students have access to the resources they need to succeed.
  • Cover Lessons: In the absence of the teacher, take on the responsibility of delivering lessons, ensuring continuity of education and minimizing disruption to the students.
Requirements
  • Recognized HLTA Qualification: Hold a recognized Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong Literacy and Numeracy Skills: Possess strong literacy and numeracy skills, including Maths and English GCSE graded 4 (or equivalent).
  • Experience Working with Children: Have experience working with children in an educational setting, demonstrating a deep understanding of their needs and abilities.
  • Ability to Motivate and Encourage Students: Be able to motivate and encourage students, helping them to develop a love of learning and achieve their full potential.
  • Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills: Possess excellent communication and organizational skills, able to work effectively with teachers, students, and other members of the educational community.
  • Understanding of Strategies for Student Behavior and Engagement: Have a deep understanding of strategies to support student behavior and engagement, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
