About the Role
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the Ostomy manufacturing department, ensuring high standards of product quality and departmental efficiency are met. This role reports to the Production Manager and requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage and lead the manufacturing unit in line with business planning requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and staff the Ostomy manufacturing department to achieve required standards of product quality and departmental efficiency.
- Ensure all training records reflect the skill base of the workforce and address training needs.
- Implement disciplinary procedures and policies as needed.
- Conduct return-to-work interviews, probation reviews, and performance appraisals for production employees.
- Meet Quality Management System requirements, including record keeping and document control.
- Maintain a robust traceability system for the Production department and ensure tooling/machinery are maintained, repaired, and refurbished.
- Have input in generating Risk Assessment Data for all aspects of the Production Departments.
- Perform regular safety walks with operators and promote a culture of Health and Safety.
- Assist in Incident Management by reporting and investigating workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement and adopting a Continuous Improvement culture using LEAN manufacturing methods.
Key Skills
- Previous Production Supervisory experience.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Previous experience working within a QMS.
Working Relationships
- Production Team.
- Group Operations Team.
- Reporting to the Production Lead/Manager.
