Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Rail Site Manager (Cleaning) to join our team based at a client's site in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the effective operational delivery and facilitation of all cleaning services within the location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial management and control of overtime and stock within the location.
- Collaboration with employees to implement new policies and processes, and to influence employees to ensure buy-in.
- Leading the operational delivery and facilitation of all cleaning services within the location.
- Weekly and periodic reviews with the Senior Operations Manager.
- Liaising with Supervisors, Team Leaders, and employees to ensure common service delivery standards and collaborative working are met.
- Reviewing and implementing new initiatives, legislation, and other changes both internal and external.
- Authorizing expenditure as agreed by the Account Director.
- Monitoring budgets and expenditure for the location through regular reviews and stock spot checks, and making recommendations for control improvements as necessary.
- Providing regular reports regarding the operation to the Senior Operations Manager.
- Ensuring adherence to governance requirements, systems, and processes.
- Implementing measures to address issues identified and to prevent reoccurrence.
- Interface with clients, service providers, and stakeholders to ensure expectations are being met and any additional services can be supported.
- Attending meetings and conference calls relating to forthcoming engineering works.
- Leading, owning, and being responsible for liaison with supervisors and teams to enable them to supply the required staffing to fulfill contract and service requirements.
- Having ownership, accountability, and liaising with the Senior Health and Safety Manager, QSHE Advisor to ensure all RAs and MS are in place and any other requirements prior to delivery of the works or services.
- Having ownership, accountability, and liaising with the Training Manager to ensure all training requirements are in place and that staff are suitably trained to undertake their role and fulfill their responsibilities.
- Completing appropriate training documentation and records.
- Ensuring that all supervisors and employees are trained in all aspects of the company's absence management policies and procedures.
- Carrying out investigations and HR processes.
- Ensuring the production of a detailed report on the completion of projects highlighting the lessons learned, recommendations, and implementation of any required changes.
- Being accountable and responsible for the review of all cleaning tasks and processes in the location to ensure that each task and service is delivered efficiently and effectively.
- In association with the Training Manager, ensuring that training and development across the location is maintained and sufficient to ensure effective and safe delivery of services.
- Ensuring that all equipment in the location is serviceable and is fit for purpose, and that all defects have been reported in a timely manner as per the company's procedures.
About You:
- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
- This position will involve weekend and bank holiday working.
- A proven track record in cleaning service delivery.
- Experience of implementing, reviewing, and achieving standards for safety, quality, time, and cost.
- Demonstrable experience of managing a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to operate and build credibility with employees.
- Experience of leading and inspiring a team which may be dispersed across a region.
- Excellent diplomacy skills combined with the confidence and resilience to handle potential conflict situations.
- Ability to resolve conflicting issues and priorities.
- Outstanding knowledge and a demonstrable track record of expertise in the successful management of in-house teams at a local level.
- Have a level of technical understanding and be able to grasp technical issues and advise on solutions.
- A willingness to travel to sites across the contract region at short notice.
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Flexible working attitude to accommodate the contract requirements and changing business needs.
- Good IT skills including use of Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
- The ability to sufficiently use handheld devices such as smart phones and tablets.
