Role Summary

The organization is in search of a qualified management accountant ready to advance into a Finance Manager position, collaborating closely with a distinguished Finance Director to drive the company’s financial strategy. This role encompasses leading the preparation of management accounts, as well as contributing to annual budgeting, forecasting, system enhancements, and finance business collaboration.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and adept at recognizing and executing process enhancements. They should thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be comfortable working within a compact finance team. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, perform variance analysis, and generate detailed financial reports with business insights.
  • Process month-end journals to create monthly profit and loss statements and reconciled balance sheets.
  • Engage with budget holders and business leaders, providing ongoing training in financial management practices.
  • Guide the Finance Assistant and foster an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Assist in crafting the annual business plan and maintain the budgeting framework.
  • Develop forecasts to evaluate actual performance against planned results, including variance analysis.
  • Coordinate with external accountants for the preparation of annual statutory accounts, providing necessary schedules and reconciliations.
  • Oversee cash flow management, process payments, and prepare weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • Prepare employee bonus payments for review and assist the Finance Director in creating board documentation.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new business and accounting systems.
  • Evaluate billing targets and related reports, update policies and procedures, and conduct finance training sessions.
  • Ensure the accuracy of accounting records in compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or ICAS) / consideration for finalist level candidates.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience in a professional services or creative industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with D365 Dynamics and Power BI systems.
  • Experience in architecture, engineering, real estate, or construction sectors.
  • International and multi-currency financial experience.
