About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our diagnostic imaging department at Southfields Veterinary Specialists. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with and perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasonography, radiography, and fluoroscopy.
  • Work closely with senior imaging nurses, deputy nurse managers, and specialized imaging radiologists to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Oversee daily operational and organizational duties of the picture archiving communication system, including imaging reconstruction, image and report backup and archiving, and handling internal and external image and report requests.
  • Contribute to general registered nursing duties, including anesthesia monitoring, intravenous catheter placement, drug dosage calculation, handling, and administration, blood sampling and laboratory duties, patient recovery, and general cleaning and infection control.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by overseeing all aspects of radiation within your daily department allocation (x-ray/CT/fluoroscopy) and participating in necessary radiation protection training.
