Preston, Lancashire, United Kingdom Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

Are you an enthusiastic and driven HR professional eager to advance your career within a dynamic and results-oriented team? If so, this opportunity may be the perfect fit for you.

We are thrilled to announce an opening for a HR Advisor to become part of our supportive and active HR Team. We seek an individual capable of delivering a proficient and professional HR Advisory service, embodying the Trust values, and contributing to the strategic objectives of the People & Culture Directorate. The ideal candidate will cultivate strong working relationships, assist teams in achieving their workforce goals, and foster effective people management practices by advising, guiding, and coaching managers on Trust policies and procedures. Additionally, this role will offer chances for policy development, training, and participation in various HR projects and initiatives as part of the broader HR team. The position will support our network and corporate teams, utilizing a hybrid working model that blends remote work with on-site responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will serve as a vital resource for managers, employing a coaching approach to assist them in navigating a variety of employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, absence management, and performance evaluations. You will be accountable for facilitating effective investigations, collaborating closely with investigating officers throughout the process to ensure timelines are adhered to. You will provide comprehensive HR advice and, when necessary, meet with managers and staff in person. There will also be opportunities to engage in proactive HR initiatives, such as delivering training sessions and developing policies. Establishing effective relationships within the areas you support will be crucial, as will being responsive and organized at all times. Ideally, you will possess HR advisory experience and be CIPD qualified or working towards this qualification. Previous experience in the NHS is not a prerequisite.

You will join a welcoming and supportive team that will assist you in acclimating to the Trust and the teams you will be supporting. We regularly convene to ensure effective communication, collaborative efforts, and the exchange of best practices. Under the guidance of the HR Business Partner, you will work independently with appropriate oversight and support. We are committed to facilitating your ongoing development, enhancing your knowledge and experience, and enabling you to thrive in a fast-paced environment where we strive to embody our values daily.

About Our Organization

The strategic direction of our team is influenced by the NHS People Plan and People Promises. You will be part of an organization dedicated to implementing changes that promote equality and adopt compassionate leadership practices, all aimed at enhancing staff well-being and delivering exceptional patient care.

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust offers a variety of services, including secondary mental health care across the region. Our specialized services encompass inpatient child and adolescent mental health care, perinatal mental health support, and forensic services, including low and medium secure care.

The Trust also provides a comprehensive range of physical health and well-being services within the community, collaborating with various partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria, and Sefton areas.
