Position Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled Cost Engineer to join our team, focusing on a significant project within the nuclear industry. This role is pivotal in supporting the lifespan extension of UK nuclear power stations by providing comprehensive project controls and commercial managed services.

Key Responsibilities
As a Cost Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Project Controls team, tasked with:

  • Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on project financials.
  • Identifying and understanding discrepancies against the established baseline.
  • Conducting cost reconciliations and preparing monthly status reports.
  • Participating in accountability meetings and conducting cost forecasting.
  • Managing project baselines and overseeing change and risk management.
  • Developing and utilizing Project Control Structures such as CBS, OBS, and WBS.
  • Collaborating with the Planning Project team to ensure financial alignment with project objectives.

Qualifications and Skills
Essential:

  • Expertise in estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk management tools.
  • Strong comprehension of project team dynamics for effective project delivery.
  • Experience with Earned Value Analysis/Management (EVM).
  • Exceptional numerical and analytical capabilities.

Desirable:

  • Self-driven with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in Project Controls and/or Project Delivery, preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Educational Background
Desirable:

  • HNC/HND or a degree in a cost-related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Membership in the Association of Cost Engineers (MACostE).

Security Clearance
To qualify for this position, candidates must be able to achieve CTC security clearance, which necessitates a minimum of 3 years of residency in the UK.
